Talking to the media the protesters said, “ that youth involved in drugs and liquor are increasing day by day. We appeal to higher authorities to look into the matter and ban and the liquor shops and arrest all drug peddlers” “It is difficult for our family especially our female members to come out of homes as these peddlers roam around all day in our area," they said. “Drug addiction and liquor consumption are one of the reasons for the increasing rate of suicide cases in Kashmir.
